Work that has to be right

We're a computational bioinformatics team, and the standard we hold our work to is simple: it should be reproducible, honestly scoped, and defensible to a reviewer. The people we want to work with hold themselves to the same standard.

What We Look For

The qualities that matter here

Less about a specific CV line, more about how you approach the work.

Rigour by instinct

You document your methods, pin your versions, and treat a result you can't reproduce as unfinished.

Honest about limits

You're comfortable saying “this analysis can't answer that”—to a colleague or a client—when it's true.

Depth in a domain

You know at least one area—an assay, a data type, a field—well enough to see where the standard tools break.

Clear communication

You can explain a method to a biologist and a caveat to a stakeholder without losing either of them.

Collaborative by default

You'd rather get an analysis right together than be right alone, and you share what you learn.

Always learning

The tools change every year. You keep up because the science is genuinely interesting, not just to stay current.
